Media Supplements

In order to increase a given culture medium selectivity, a supplement or additive not included in the medium due to its sensitivity to sterilization temperature must be added, on certain occasions, to ensure the isolation and identification of specific microorganisms.

Labmaster supplements are available in freeze-dried vials for greater stability and lifetime. Certain supplements not susceptible to freeze-drying are presented in vials with sterile solutions, without the need for previous dissolution.

Both formats allow Labmaster supplements to remain stable for a long period of time, without affecting their quality or functionality.

Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing :

The analysis of microorganism sensitivity to different antimicrobial agents is a key point in any clinical microbiology laboratory. This analysis is carried out by means of an antibiogram, the objective of which is to evaluate in a laboratory the response of a microorganism to a battery of antibiotics or antifungals

These sensitivity tests must be conveniently standardized and subject to control processes that ensure their reproducibility. Labmaster offers classic antibiotic discs with certain concentrations, as well as new strips with concentration gradients under EUCAST and CISI control.

Chromogenic Culture Media :

Chromogenic culture media have in their composition a colorless chromogenic substrate, which thanks to the specific enzymatic activity of each microorganism, is degraded releasing a part of it, called chromophore, giving the colony an intense and specific color that makes it possible to identify the bacteria at first sight.

Transport Media :

UTM is an FDA cleared system suitable for collection, transport, maintenance and long-term freezer storage of clinical specimens containing viruses, chlamydia, and mycoplasma or urea plasma organisms. The transport medium consists of a plastic, screw cap tube and maintains organism’s viability for 48 hours at room or refrigerated temperature.
